June 30th, 2008 by R.J.
This year’s MotoGP races will be aired on network television across the United States once again this summer after an agreement was reached with MotoGP’s rights-holder Dorna Sports and both CBS Sports and NBC.
The deal will ensure that three MotoGP races will be broadcast on CBS Television Network, including live coverage of the 2008 Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix from Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca during an hour-long program on July 20th at 5 p.m. EST. Additionally on CBS Sports, will be an hour-long same-day delayed broadcast of the Alice Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland at Sachsenring, Germany on July 13th (1 p.m. EST) and the Cardion Ab Grand Prix Ceske republiky at Brno, Czech Republic on August 17th (2 p.m. EST).
NBC will offer live coverage of the inaugural Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on September 14th at 3 p.m. EST.
In addition to some of the most spectacular racing to be seen on American soil in quite some time, the shows will feature expert analysis from an experienced commentary team, and news and interviews from the top riders in the series.
Helping to make the deal possible between the two parties was Van Wagner Sports and Entertainment, who will coordinate the production with both CBS Sports and NBC and work as Dorna’s US TV ad-sales agent.
